There are a few ways to get to Glenorchy and Kinloch including buses, boat rides and of course, your own car. Here's how:
By CarGlenorchy is a 48 kilometre scenic drive from Queenstown, allow 45 minutes driving time. Kinloch is a further 26 kilometres. The road is sealed for the 17kms to the Dart Bridge, the last 9 kms is unsealed though well graded for a normal car or van. If you would prefer not to drive all the way to Kinloch, you can leave your vehicle at the carpark by Glenorchy marina and make arrangements in advance for a boat charter; we would always recommend bringing your vehicle if you have one for freedom of movement.
In occasions of extreme rain the river banks cannot always cope, this may cause the Kinloch road to flood and close. We will contact you with as much notice as we have and whenever possible offer transport arrangements.
Our office in GlenorchyWe have a base in Glenorchy called The Trading Post, please come and see us for any assistance or to get a map so you don't miss any of the local sights.
